Why do some of us like the entertainment of horror movies, while some of us just don’t appreciate the genre? Most likely it’s because for some reason, many people really like watching them, but not the gratuitous bloody kind. We seem to prefer the films with a more supernatural type of dialog. Some are more well known than others, yet all are worth a night on the couch with friends or even in bed by yourself or with your partner, snuggling close together.

Exciting and sometimes mind-boggling, horror movies can make you forget about your life and get you intertwined into the story line almost as if you were living it. But thank heavens, you’re not!

Suspenseful, unreal, or….too real, they come from a part of our human imaginations that represent not only repressed fear felt in every day life, but also that deepest part of our primal minds that we all share and live with every day.
We always want the “good guy” to win, for light to overcome darkness, and see replayed over and over that we will be safe in this life. Have you ever noticed how 9 times out of 10, the good guy wins? But then with horror movies, there’s always that hint at the end of the movie that darkness lurches just under the couch, right behind the sofa, or within that dark twinkle of someone’s eyes. Fear never quite goes away, and so we love to be scared and yet see the light win.
Then, of course, some people are just twisted.
